About CraftyPod Publishing

CraftyPod Publishing is a small, independent, and feisty publisher of innovative craft titles.

My name is Sister Diane. My goal is to share ebooks, printed books, zines and tutorials that combine beautiful ideas with fantastic educational value. Some of the work is mine, and sometimes I collaborate with other talented crafters.

Where this thing came from

I've always loved craft books, and like so many crafters, always dreamed of writing one of my own. But I didn't know how to find a publisher - let alone develop a good book idea.

Eventually, I started blogging, and then two things happened: I had an opportunity to write that craft book for a real publisher, and I realized that I could publish my own work.

I wrote my first ebook, and by the time it was finished, I was hooked on publishing.

A little philosophy, if you don't mind...

Thanks to the internet, traditional forms of publishing are in turmoil - some would even say they're dying. Meanwhile, new, cheaper, easier forms of publishing are emerging, and anyone can use them.

I love this moment. Before the web, only a very few crafters had any hope of seeing their work published. And traditional publishers had control over what crafts and ideas we got to see.

Now, all bets are off. You can publish your unique crafty vision, and share it with a wider audience. And as an audience, we now have access to a wonderful explosion of ideas.

...So, if you don't mind my asking, why aren't you publishing yourself?
